Simple Spaghetti Bolognese

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over a medium heat. Add in carrots, celery and onions and sauté until they're just tender, about 3 minutes. Add the minced beef and pork, and cook until browned, breaking up the meat as you stir, 5 minutes.
  2. Pour in the jars of pasta sauce along with salt and pepper and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
  3. When the bolognese has reached your desired consistency, stir in the double cream.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in well salted boiling water for the time as per package instructions.
  5. Remove from heat, and serve over the cooked spaghetti and top with freshly grated parmesan, and basil.
